Child Dies After Her Father Throws Her From Bridge

Police in Australia say a man involved in a child custody battle pulled over on a highway bridge and dropped his 4-year-old daughter over the side.

The girl fell 190 feet into the Yarra River and died at a hospital. Arthur Freeman of Melbourne has been charged with the murder of Darcey Iris Freeman. He did not appear in court because police say he is psychologically unfit. A magistrate ordered him to be held while an investigation continues. He faces a maximum life sentence if convicted.

Police did not allege a motive but say Freeman was involved in a
custody battle with his wife over the couple's three children. He
had appeared in a family court on Tuesday and Wednesday. Authorities say the other children may have been in the vehicle at
the time of the alleged crime.

Bottom Line: If convicted, the death penalty would be appropriate in this case...and it should be carried out in the exact same manner in which the helpless child was killed. THAT would be justice.

It sounds like the mother should be facing some harrasment charges along with other charges, but also the father deserved what he got. If he was at least going to kill someone, which would be horrible, it should of been his ex wife and her dad. If I had a son who received hell from an ex and her dad over that, I would go upside his ex father in law's head and tell him to stay away from my son or worse things would happen to him. It sounds like this woman should of never had a child in the first place and that man should of never got married to her in the first place. This teaches a lesson, know who you are about to get married to or have kids with before you go through with it. There are spouses as well, who not only cheat but cause violence to you or any kids, and will do everything in their willpower to screw you out of money. That is society these days. BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR!

Regardless of the reasons or circumstances behind all of this, he still killed a child. Why did he choose one child and not all of them? It sounds like there is more to the story than what is being told. But regardless, he took an innocent life and therefore should go to jail for it.

The man who dropped his child over the bridge is a freind of my sisters. He is a kind, gentle, caring soul, who only wanted to be with this kids. His ex wife who is a manipulative, dominating woman, bullied him constantly and was trying to get him out of his childrens lives. The day on the bridge he was very emotional, his ex phoned him to say she was waiting at the school with the police. Her father is a policeman, who was also involved in bullying him, and everytime he had the kids and did something she did not like, she would call the police and they would come becasue of her father. He adored his children and felt he had nothing left, she took all the money and left him with nothing and was trying to keep him from his children as well. I wish he threw himself over, as he has nothing left to live for. He could not cope with his ex as she was to strong for him, and he to gentle a soul. I do know that before it happened he was very emotional and felt he could not keep fighting her.

To: Buford I think the people that die by the hands of others have rights too. I bet the killers out there didn't say the way the kill is Cruel either!! A eye for a eye I say. Maybe the firing squad would be better we could get rid of more than one with one bullet. Put them in a line up and lets see how many falls The state would save alot of money and maybe they could down taxes!! Tell to call me I'll pull the trigger quick

To:James....They need to start the electric chair back up. We can never do that..The lawyers say that even "Lethal Injection" is cruel and unusual punishment. I use to be a cop, and I can tell you many stories about lawyers and crime. But they won't post it here. It's no wonder that cops can cop a bad attitude.

Due to extreme circumstance, this man was insane. Now, he will be at the expense of his country. Back in the 60's, when everyone was smoking "pot," we never had these problems and there was little crime. Our farmers need crops to grow and we sure could use the tax revenue...It might even be a good fuel source.

We have to many people in jails now on death row and in jail for life. They need to start the electric chair back up. The prisons are not what they should be. The prisoners need to have it rough so the would not want to go back. If you take a life you give yours up.
