Gold Tooth Bandits

It seems no business is immune from crime these days, even a place that sells fake teeth...especially if those teeth happen to be gold!

Police say two men carrying guns held up a victim inside the Gold Teeth store off of Greenville Boulevard Wednesday evening.

Police say the robbers took off running down Landmark road. Police searched with dogs to track down the men but lost the trail near Baywood Lane.

Police believe the men are armed and dangerous and are still on the loose.

I wish someone would steal all of the fake gold teeth. Then nobody would be walking around looking stupid with fake gold teeth.

Don't worry Dave, No one is taking it from me. A bandit may walk into my house, but he will leave bagged and tagged in a multi colored strobe lit bus.

It is everyones responsibility to take care of themselves and their families. The police can not be everywhere all the time and we would not want them to be. We do not need a police state. It is your RIGHT to own, keep and USE a gun if necessary. Buy a gun and get trained. The police are under no obligation to protect you. The US Supreme Court has affirmed this. It is your right. Do not let anyone take that from you.

I just hate the whole Tipper Gore approach. It is not the job of actors, artists, or the media to raise a child. Parents should do there best to monitor what their children are exposed to but obviously there is no way you can always be there. And for that you should impose in your child values and self-esteem. Don Imus does not make people racist, DMX will not make anyone kill their baby’s momma and neither of the Spears sisters will get anyone pregnant. I was responsible for creating my children and I am responsible for raising them. I can not expect anyone else to help because it is not their responsibility. The same is true of every parent. If ever one of my children decided to live a “thug” life it would be up to me to correct this. Just ranting-not specifically aimed at anyone.

It just annoys me when I'm reminded of the whole Tipper Gore approach-Blame the music, blame the television, blame the celebrities. Parents should monitor what their children are exposed to but they should also instill them with values and high self-esteem so that they will hold on tight to their values. It is not the job of the media or celebrities to raise a child. Don Imus does not make anyone racist, Kanye does not make people slap b------, and neither of the Spears sisters got anyone pregnant. A child is the responsibility of the parents, not the village. I created my children, and I alone am responible for them. If my children wanted to follow a "thug" life I would nip it in the bud ASAP because that is my responsibility as a parent. Just ranting-this is not directed to anyone.

Anonymous; First off, good post..all good points. Secondly, I am old enough to remember no MTV,the beginning, and the evolution to mostly rap videos that basically glorify the 'thug' life style. Most of these 'wanna be' thugs have emulated what they have seen there. Let's face it, would some kid from rural America ever have known or seen what the NY City punks were wearing had it not been for MTV and other similar programming? NO. I don't know what is on MTV these days, because it is all dung to me. That was my point. That issue coupled with all those you mentioned go hand in hand. It is all primarily parenting, I was merely pointing to the influence of what is seen on TV. That, in addition to a lack of parenting is a terrible combination. In my observation, most parents don't know how to parent to begin with.
