Lawsuit Challenges Inaugural Oath, Prayers

An atheist who has fought to remove the words "under God" from the Pledge of Allegiance has joined a lawsuit seeking to remove all religious references from President-elect Barack Obama's inauguration.

Michael Newdow believes government references to God or religion are unconstitutional.

He wants to remove the phrase "so help me God" from the oath of office, noting that it isn't in the oath set out in the Constitution. The lawsuit also seeks to block inaugural prayers by the Rev. Rick Warren and the Rev. Joseph Lowery.

Newdow sued to remove religion from inaugurations in 2001 and 2005 but lost both cases.

This time, he's joining 17 other plaintiffs, including atheist and humanist organizations.

Jesus is a myth for those too weak to accept reality.

We all know that God exist, and nobody can duplicate God's work and we all have our beliefs being atheist, or Christians. I believe in God and Jesus is His Son. I will say this if there is no God It will not matter how we live our life or what our beliefs are, we will die and be buried and that is it. But, what happens if we are wrong and God judges us all, kinda makes you wonder doesn't it.I will not take that chance to find out, and I hope nobody else does either, but It but everyone has a choice and a free will.

Someone needs to pray for lying Barack and lying Joe. They both told BALDFACED LIES during the campaign. We arent against your Second Amendment rights, they said. What a load of BS! All gunowners on here need to go to Obama's Change website and read the gun control BS they want under his "urban plan".They want the police to have full access to your gun ownership records, they want to BAN gunshows. And they want the assault weapon ban of 1994 reinstated PERMANENTLY! But they aren't against your Second Amendment rights.Yeah, right!Furthermore, I saw a plenty of Assault weapons out on DC to protect thier sorry rears during the Inauguration. Of course, they're special, and thier lives and thier families lives are more important than ours. Therefore they get to be protected. The people that I feel most sorry for are the lost sheep that fell for these scumbags LIES!

This is ridiculous. There is nothing wrong with the words "so help me God". If you dont like them dont listen your not the one saying them so why does it matter to you.

Good job with the copy and paste, running out of arguments I see. I will continue to pray for you. I will pray that you do not pass your anti-Christian values on to another generation. God Bless
