Shoplifting Dog Remains At Large

MURRAY, Utah (AP) -- A thief remains at large after pulling off a daring heist - in the pet food aisle.

Surveillance video at a supermarket in this Salt Lake City suburb caught a dog shoplifting, KSL-TV reported Wednesday.

The video showed the dog walking in the front door of Smith's Food & Drug in Murray, and heading straight to Aisle 16, the pet food aisle, where it grabbed a bone worth $2.79.

The thief wasn't even perturbed by a face-to-face confrontation with store manager Roger Adamson.

"I looked at him. I said 'Drop it!'" Adamson said. "He looked at me, and I looked at him, and he ran for the door and away he went, right out the front door."

So this dog is still "at large?" Are the cops...or dog catchers looking for him? How can you prosecute a dog? Well maybe a few days in the pound will straighten Rover up, you reckon?

This could be a Robin Hood situation. He might be just giving the stolen bones to other dogs. He might be living in thr woods with his Merry Dogs. If you have a dog watch out if a bone shows up on you front door. It could be a stolen bone.

This dog is a genious. Why can't my dog be that smart? It would be crazy if the dog really had to go to the courtroom, then you may see the first ever dog in a courthouse and hear a bunch of barking inside the courtroom. lol

Obviously, this is a job for "Underdog". I can see the swat teams, helicopters, spotlights....what a perpatrator, a hound! Anyone that knows dogs would tell you their pets know where the good stuff in the pet store is. My golden picks hers up, carries it around the store and has me pay for it at the counter. At least we do it the honest way. Criminals.....
