Mother Of Palin Daughter's Boyfriend Arrested

Alaska State Troopers have arrested the mother of Bristol Palin's boyfriend on drug charges.

Sherry L. Johnston was arrested Thursday after troopers served a search warrant on a Wasilla home. The 42-year-old Johnston has been charged with six felony drug counts.

Troopers did not identify the drug involved in a brief mention on the agency's Web site.

However, trooper spokeswoman Megan Peters said late Friday in a news release that the charges were in connection to the drug OxyContin, a strong prescription painkiller.

Johnston is the mother of 18-year-old Levi Johnston. Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the GOP nominee for vice president, announced in September that her 18-year-old daughter, Bristol, was pregnant and Johnston was the father.

Sherry Johnston was released from jail in Palmer on $5,000 bail. She was not scheduled to be immediately arraigned.

Peters said no one else had been charged. Few details could be released Friday because the investigation was ongoing, she said.

Palmer District Attorney Roman Kalytiak said information on the case had not yet been forwarded to his office.

This story was posted before Christmas. Are you guys hanging on to this story because you feel that every day it sits here it smears Palin's name a little more? This is a my aunt's cousin's friend's mom's story. It is stupid, recycle the space and find someone other than AP to get a story from. If this story was about the Chicago hustler's great aunt's boyfriends cousin twice removed it wouldn't have made it to the website.

Tad, since you are the ranking judeo-christian fundamentalist neoconservative on this page, it's "capitalism", not "capitolism". I would not talk about anyone being without merit.

Rob, you are a guy who doesn't know the meaning of the terms "war monger" and "dictator", but you criticize other's spelling errors. Reagan avoided war by working from a position of strength and he stood strong for the freedom of people around the world. He enabled the people behind the iron curtain to free themselves from the bonds of dictatorships. Your post are complete and utter nonsense. They are based on nothing more than your hate for conservative judeo/christian values and capitolism. You can point out no facts to base your opinions on, so they are without merit.

And it's Reagan, not Reagon. I'm sure we have heard Jesus Christ and Reagan mentioned as one in the same.

GDP has been in constant growth for the past forty years but there are many more numbers to look at, some that are much more indicative of the pain that can be and has been felt by the average person. Interest rates, inflation and unemployment rates rob. Check those out under Carter. If Reagan hadn't saved us from four more years of that clown we may have had another depression. Instead we had years of tremendous growth.

Based on history, Reagon is one of the greatest leaders of the US. War mongering? You can learn about our presidents on the internet but make sure you look under "facts" and not rhetoric from your party. Tad is right on the money, Carter caused Reagon to be elected. Sorry, Carter destroyed the economy. Reagon picked it back up again. Sorry, facts again. Bush was a breath of fresh air from a scandalous whitehouse under Clinton. Sorry, facts again, not trying to rub it in. Now, with the chosen one who has no experience, questionable background and even questionable citizenship, he is already great? Hes not even in office and has done "absolutely" nothing. Don't but too many of the Obama coins just yet, they may be worth nothing in 2012. Enjoy the tax increases brought to you by Obama, you voted on it. He is repealing the Bush tax cut? Yes he is, now theres the change you can believe in. You will find that Jimmy Carter lives within this guy on policy. Sorry, he will be a short termer.

And Reagan "...the greatest leader of our time"? Get a grip! You actually worship that war mongering dictator?
