Local Lottery Players Hit It Big

A couple of eastern Carolinians hit it big recently with the lottery.

Charlie Long of Greenville matched all five white balls on Saturday's Powerball drawing winning him $200,000.

Long picked his own numbers when he bought the ticket at Haddock's grocery in Winterville. He said he was already planning to buy a new car, but his prize will make purchasing one a little easier.

An unidentified player in Jacksonville also holds a ticket for Saturday night's drawing worth $200,000.

You can watch the Powerball drawings live on WITN Wednesday & Saturday nights right before the 11:00 p.m. news.

Well, we've tried to understand the street lingo while it has been spoken around us, but it is altogether another thing to try and read it !!! Wow, Sandy, did you even understand what you tried to convey? Congrats to the lottery winners!Just a word of encouragement, be careful ! I had a neighbor who won a couple of million at a casino and they went thru it like water and now have nothing and are divorced. Don't let your winnings change who you are!

You all need to be nice. Sandy may not be using the proper grammar but she can read. What is with all the cruelty in this world? Be careful what you say because you are showing YOUR ignorance.

Sandy missed more than her morning coffee! Wonder how she did in English class? In response to Buzz - it wouldn't surpise me if the state asked for some back. After all they want money back from the schools -isn't that what the lottery was supposed to help??? Go figure. Congratuations folks on your winnings.
