2 Marines Killed In Afghanistan, Elite Rapid Response Team Headed To Sudan

WASHINGTON (AP) -- U.S. officials say two U.S. Marines have been killed and several other troops wounded in an attack on a British air base in southern Afghanistan. The assault was carried out by heavily armed insurgents. Britain's Prince Harry is stationed at the base. There was no word about his whereabouts at the time of the . Meanwhile, an elite Marine rapid response team is headed to Sudan to provide security at the U.S. Embassy in Khartoum. Similar teams had already been dispatched to Yemen and Libya, where there was a fatal attack on the U.S. ambassador and three other Americans. Violent protests around the Muslim world claimed at least four lives Friday.
