TEACHER OF THE WEEK: Mildred Hatcher From Duplin County

Hatcher was born in Eden, North Carolina, where her parents and twin sister still reside. She currently lives in Goldsboro, where she enjoys reading, crocheting, scrapbooking, and spending time with her family and two dogs.

Mildred has been married for twenty-eight years to her husband, Jerry. She has two daughters, Amy and Jessica. Amy is in the Air Force and is married to an Airman. She has traveled to many places and is almost finished with her Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Mount Olive College. Mildred's youngest daughter, Jessica, is studying English at North Carolina State University and aspires to be a speech pathologist.

Of her experience as an educator, Mildred said, "I truly love teaching at B.F. Grady. I love the people that I work with, the close-knit community, and especially the students! It has been an exciting ten years and I wouldn't trade the experience for anything. I always try to treat the students like I would want my own children to be treated."
