Volunteers Needed For Tornado Clean Up

Bertie County is seeking volunteers to help the clean up efforts following an outbreak of deadly tornadoes.

Those interested can fill out a volunteer registration form online. The form assists the volunteer effort with assigning volunteers to areas where there is the most need. The link is located at the bottom of this article under related links.

The Askewville Community Food Pantry continues to serve all victims of the recent tornadoes at 101 E. Askewville Street, Askewville. Victims can pick up food at this location Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 AM to 12 noon. Food donations from citizens are also accepted at this location during the same days and times.

The Askewville Baptist Church distribution site has changed its hours of operation. It will now be open for victims to pick up supplies on Wednesdays from 4 PM to 7 PM and Saturdays from 9 AM to 12 noon.
