The US Postal Service plans to delay massive cuts until next spring.
The USPS says that it has agreed to delay planned cutbacks until mid-May in order to give congress time to enact legislation that would help save the service from bankruptcy.
The news comes after the Postal Service announced that it would close hundreds of service centers and eliminate thousands of jobs.
The agency lost over five billion dollars in the most recent fiscal year, and is projected to lose a record 14 billion dollars next year.
