USA Olympic Cyclist Used To Live In Havelock

We've learned one of the newest gold medalists from Team USA used to live in eastern Carolina.

Kristin Armstrong won the gold in individual time trial cycling Wednesday. Armstrong calls Boise, Idaho home now, but according to the New Bern Sun Journal, she used to live in Havelock in the late 80s.

The paper says Armstrong attended 8th grade at Havelock Middle, and 9th grade at Havelock High School, while her father was stationed at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point.
