An historic fixture in one town in the East is just about a month away from going up on the public auction block.

The Turnage Theater in Washington will go up for auction on November 5, according to the Washington Daily News. The paper says community leaders are meeting to find a way to put the theater back in community ownership.

The Turnage Theater closed at the end of 2011 because it ran out of money to operate.
