Town Hall Scheduled For Tornado Victims

Many communities are still on the long road to recovery after April's deadly tornadoes devastated much of Eastern Carolina. A town hall meeting centering around providing assistance to those affected will take place Thursday.

Colerain Baptist Church in Bertie County will host the "Helping Survivors and the Community to Heal Following Natural Disasters" meeting beginning at 7 p.m.

The meeting will reach out to tornado survivors and those affected by flooding from Tropical Storm Nicole last October.

In April's storms, Bertie County suffered 12 fatalities, the most of any in the state, as well as hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage.
