Bertie County Tornado Rebuilding Continues

Nearly four months after deadly tornadoes devastated North Carolina, an army of volunteers is about to descend upon one of the hardest hit areas in the east.

The group Samaritan's Purse, based in Boone, N.C., is scheduled to arrive in Bertie County Monday. The group says they will spend time helping rebuild homes in the community.

Twelve people were killed in Bertie County on April 16. FEMA has allocated hundreds of thousands of dollars in rebuilding money to Bertie County alone.
