Teen Injured In Carteret County Boating Accident

We're gathering details on a boating accident where a teenager was hit by a boat's propellers, and the boat driver is facing charges for drinking behind the wheel.

Court records show 28-year-old David Duncan is charged in Carteret County with DWI of a motor boat and operating a boat in a reckless manner, which are both misdemeanors. Officers say a 17 year old girl's legs were hit by the propellers of a 44-foot-pontoon boat near Cape Lookout National Seashore, according to the Carteret County News-Times. The paper says the young woman was hit when the driver started driving the boat and hit the girl in the water.

It's not clear how serious her injuries were, but the paper says she was airlifted to the hospital in Wilmington.
