WITN's Teacher of the Week for Wednesday, May 14th, 2014 is Paula Eubanks from Bath Elementary School.
Mrs. Eubanks is from Washington, North Carolina and attended East Carolina University. She graduated in 2004 with a degree in Special Education.
She started teaching at Bath Elementary that same year, and has stayed there ever since.
This year, Mrs. Eubanks is in her 10th year of teaching and she wants to stay at her school until the time comes to retire.
Last year, Eubanks earned her Master's degree in Special Education.
"The best part about my job is that I get the privilege of having the same students, for the most part, from their 5th grade year to their 8th grade year," said Eubanks. "Because of this, I grow extremely close with these students and their families. I get to see their growth academically through all those years, but also physically, emotionally, and socially."
Outside the classroom, Eubanks likes to spend time on the river with her husband, Jonathan, and almost-one-year-old son, Levi.
