TEACHER OF THE WEEK: Laura Wilson, From Snow Hill Primary

This week's "Teacher of the Week" is Laura Wilson, who teaches in Greene County.

Laura graduated from ECU with a B.S. in Special Education in 2005.

She started teaching in Edgecombe County eight years ago and transferred to Greene County, where she is an Exceptional Children's teacher at Snow Hill Primary for grades K-2.

Laura is National Board certified and is on numerous committees and teams at SHP.

Laura has taught special needs children throughout her eight years in public schools and is praised for her dedication and determination to help them have a better life.

She says she was inspired by her 21-year-old cousin who has Down Syndrome.

Laura said her motto is "all children can learn no matter what disability, ethnicity, or difficulties they may face."
