Suspect Sought In Goldsboro Double Murder

The search is on for the suspect in a double murder.

Goldsboro police think 38-year-old Angelo Burden fatally shot two men Friday night. Officers found 47-year-old Donald Mewborn and 50-year-old Gary Buckom dead on the 1000 block of Devereaux Street in Goldsboro.

Burden spent about a year in prison in 2006 for possession of a firearm by a felon and drug charges. He was convicted almost 20 years ago for assault with a deadly weapon.

Both victims will be sent to the North Carolina Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Chapel Hill for autopsies.

Anyone with information about the double murder or where Burden is asked to call Crime Stoppers (919) 735-2255.
