Sheriff: Sex Offender Lived With Day Care Operator

Authorities in Cumberland County say they have arrested a Fayetteville woman after she allowed a sex offender to live with her while she operated a day care in her home.

Fifty-two-year-old Yvonne Monroe was charged Wednesday with operating a baby-sitting service in the home of a sex offender.

The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office says Monroe advertised her child-care services on Craigslist and cared for at least two children in her home while boyfriend Theodore Higuera Brazell lived there.

The 56-year-old Brazell is a registered sex offender who is charged with two counts of violating the state's Sex Offender Registry guidelines. Brazell is also the former police chief of the Dare County town of Southern Shores

Monroe is currently free on bond. It's not known if she has an attorney.
