It is time for companies to start hiring seasonal workers, and this year the pay will be a little more.
A career builder's survey shows three in 10 retailers will hire seasonal workers to fill sales, customer service, shipping and other positions. In addition, 10 percent of hospitality companies will add seasonal staff.
The survey also shows more than half of the employers will pay $10 an hour or more. That number is up 48 percent from last year.
Applicants interested in long-term employment should apply early and let the employer know because some companies plan to transition seasonal workers into permanent employees.
