Rocky Mount Pastor, College Student Head To London

A Rocky Mount pastor and a member of his congregation are heading to the Olympic Games in London to serve as chaplains.

The Rocky Mount Telegram reports that the Rev. Howard Jackson of Grace Covenant Church and N.C. Wesleyan College student and church member Preston Bremus were scheduled to fly from Raleigh-Durham International Airport on Wednesday.

Jackson said David Guinn, the founder of International Sports Chaplains, invited him to be one of a handful of chaplains from throughout the country who will be praying with athletes and spectators. Jackson said he expects to be ministering for 10 days.

Bremus said he has never traveled to London and said he would enjoy talking to some of the Olympic soccer players.
