Rain Falls On Pender County Wildfire

Officials battling the Juniper Road wildfire in Pender County say they received much-needed rain Thursday.

The afternoon storms brought anywhere from a trace to a half-inch to the 48 square mile area, with much of the precipitation falling on the western side.

The total cost of the fire has now reached $3.1 million.
