In a split vote, Pitt County voted today to have early voting on Sundays this fall.
After hours of discussion, the county Board of Elections voted 2-1 for the plan that would have voting at one location on two Sundays. The lone Republican on the board voted against the plan.
Pitt County still needs to have the plan approved by the state.

The Pitt County Board of Elections meets today to consider whether they can afford any early voting on Sunday. Election officials say if any Sunday voting were to take place, it would be at one, maybe two sites, on one, maybe two Sundays.
