Off-Duty Officer Injured In Motorcycle Accident

A Rocky Mount police officer is recovering at Pitt County Memorial Hospital after being hit by a car while riding his motorcycle.

Officer Charles Millender was off-duty Wednesday evening when a car struck his bike at the intersection of Thomas A. Betts Parkway and Bishop Road in Rocky Mount, according to the Rocky Mount Telegram.

Millender was airlifted to the hospital, where he was last listed in critical condition.

Millender has been a member of the Rocky Mount Police force for one year.
