NC Symphony Concerts To Help Tornado Victims

The North Carolina Symphony is holding five performances where donations will be accepted to help victims of the tornadoes that struck the state in April.

Donations to the Triangle Area Chapter of the American Red Cross will be accepted at performances in New Bern on Thursday; Chapel Hill on Friday; Cary on Saturday; and Jacksonville on Sunday. Donations also were accepted Tuesday at a performance in Tarboro.

All the concerts are free except the one in Cary. The performance is titled "Around the World in Eighty Minutes" and features Music Director Grant Llewellyn and guest vocalist Rhiannon Giddens Laffan, lead singer for the Grammy Award-winning Carolina Chocolate Drops.
