AAA projects travel for the July 4 holiday will be up significantly this year.
The automotive company said 42.3 million Americans will travel 50 miles or more between Tuesday, July 3 and Sunday, July 8. That's up 4.9 percent from last year.
About 35.5 million people are predicted to travel by automobile, which is up four percent. 3.2 million will travel by air - more than nine percent from last year.
