Many Americans Will Lose Internet Service Monday

You could be among the hundreds of thousands of Americans who may lose their internet service on Monday.

If your computer is infected with the D.N.S changer virus, you will lose access to the internet on Monday. U.S.A Today reported the virus was part of an online advertising scam that redirected computers to fake servers - even disabling anti-virus software.

The F.B.I arrested the hackers last year, but the F.B.I had to set up clean internet servers to take the place of the malicious servers so infected computers wouldn't lose their service. That system is being shut down on Monday.

To see if you have the virus, you can check the website, the D.N.S changer working group, or dcwg.org. With the click of a button, you can find out if your computer is infected. At least 300,000 computers are still infected, according to online security company Norton.
