NEW INFO: Forestry Worker Injured At Tornado Relief Site

A state forestry worker was seriously injured after a pick up truck pinned him to a tractor trailer distributing ice at a tornado relief site in Colerain.

Officials say the driver of the pick up truck accidentally hit the gas and pinned James Morgan between the two trucks. He was taken to Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.

A forestry service spokesman says Morgan is an equipment operator from Edendon. He is in PCMH with internal injuries. Morgan has suffered severe damage to his liver and some damage to other internal organs. He also has some cracked vertebrae.

A news release says although his injuries are not considered life threatening, the next 36 hours are critical.
