Changes To Dangerous Havelock Intersection

A local police chief is trying something new at a dangerous intersection to try to help drivers get through there more easily.

Drivers in Havelock in Craven County know that U.S. 70 and Slocum road is a recurring scene for accidents. Now, the Havelock News reports, crews have installed a flashing yellow arrow to show eastbound drivers on U.S. 70 who want to turn left onto Slocum Road that they do not have the right of way.

Havelock Police Chief Wayne Cyrus asked for the change, according to the paper.
