NEW INFO: Late Night Armed Robbery Outside Greenville Bank

Greenville police say a Plymouth man was robbed of a deposit bag in a bank parking lot Sunday night.

A police report says Jimmie Clark, Jr. was approached by a man armed with a semi-automatic gun in the parking lot of the East Carolina Bank branch on South Memorial Drive.

The robbery happened around 10:30 p.m.

Police say there was approximately $800 in the deposit bank and authorities have yet to release any description of the robber.

We are gathering details of a late night armed robbery.

Greenville police responded to an armed robbery at the East Carolina Bank branch at 3810 S. South Memorial Drive just before 11 p.m. Sunday, according to dispatchers. That location is near Thomas Langston Rd. in Winterville. The bank is not open at that time of night, but the East Carolina Bank website says that location does have an ATM available 24 hours a day.
