Heat Illnesses Spike During Triple-Digit Weather

There are new numbers this morning on just how many people in North Carolina ended up in the ER over the weekend with the scorching triple-digit temperatures.

The State Health Department says more than 150 North Carolinians went to hospital emergency departments this weekend with heat-related illnesses.

Most of the victims were between 25 and 64-years-old, and were outside exercising, doing yard work, having fun or on the job.

While the super intense heat of the weekend is gone, health officials say the triple-digit heat index forecast for the rest of this week should have people taking it easy.
