FIRST ON WITN: One Gloved Robber Tries To Hold-Up Hardees

There are no arrests yet in the attempted hold-up of a fast food restaurant Monday night in Kinston where a one-gloved robber left empty handed.

Just before 10:00 p.m. Kinston police were called about the attempted robbery of the Hardees at the intersection of U.S. 70 and Highway 258.

Witnesses told police the would-be robber ran into the business, behind the counter and toward the office area. He then attempted to run out the back door, but it was locked. The man then ran out the front door empty handed.

Police say he was a white man wearing a dark face mask, grey hoodie, black coat, blue jeans and black Nike tennis shoes. The attempted robber was wearing just one glove.

We are working to gather details on an attempted robbery last night at a restaurant in Kinston.

Kinston police say there was an attempted robbery at the Hardee's at 1344 Highway 258 South sometime last night. They would not give anymore details but told WITN they are currently following up on the incident, and will release more information later this morning.
