Dozens Arrested In Jones County Operation Zero Tolerance

The Jones County Sheriff's Office and the Maysville Police Department kicked off "Phase One" of Operation Zero Tolerance Wednesday.

Sheriff Heath implemented the program to combat the illicit drug problem in Jones County. Lawmen teamed up with the NC State Bureau of Investigation and NC Alcohol Law Enforcement to make dozens of arrests during the first phase.

Lawmen were able to arrest several individuals involved in the illegal drug trade, as well as those with outstanding warrants. Criminals were found not only in Jones, but Onslow and Craven Counties as well.

“Phase One” of the operation netted over 70 arrest warrants served. These arrests consisted of over 90 felony charges and over 30 misdemeanor charges. Additional arrests from “Phase One” are still pending. “Operation Zero Tolerance” will continue with additional phases as active drug investigations are concluded.
