Funeral Planned For Couple Killed In Beulaville Crash

A funeral is planned for the couple killed in a car accident in Duplin County on Sunday, according to the Jacksonville Daily News.

The funeral for Mack and Wanda Lanier will be Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Community Funeral Home in Beulaville. The couple will be buried Thursday in Chinquapin.

Officials say the Laniers, of Pink Hill, were killed in the crash near Beulaville. The newspaper reports that the Lanier's car hydroplaned on NC 41.

Mack was 67 years old and Wanda was 57, according to their obituaries. They leave behind a son.

A Pink Hill couple is dead after state troopers say their vehicle struck standing water on the road, lost control and flipped over.

The crash happened around 5:40 p.m. Sunday on Highway 41 south of Beulaville.

Trooper C.L. Tript says Mack Lanier and his wife, Wanda, were killed in the accident. The trooper estimates their vehicle was going around 60 miles per hour and was exceeding safe speed due to the rain storm moving through the area.
