Belhaven DWI Suspect Charged With Spitting At Jailer

A local woman already in trouble with the law added to her criminal charges when deputies say she spit in the face of a detention officer.

Justin Nicole Hopkins, 27, of Belhaven remained behind bars Friday morning. The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office says a magistrate upped her bond after she spit at the detention officer Tuesday night. The Highway Patrol had already charged her with DWI and assault on a government official.
