UPDATE: New Bern Homicide Victim Identified

New Bern police have released the name of the man killed overnight in the parking lot of Craven Terrace.

Police say 56-year-old Gregory Brimmage of Watson Ave. was found dead. Officers learned another gunshot victim was at CarolinaEast Medical Center. 26-year-old James King was treated and released from the hospital.

The shots fired call came from Building O at Craven Terrace at 12:15 a.m. Friday.

Police say they do not have information on a possible motive in the murder, and won't say how many gunmen they're searching for.

New Bern police say they were called to Craven Terrace just after midnight for a "shots fired" call. Police say one person is dead, while another was taken to CarolinaEast Medical Center in New Bern with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

Police remained on the scene for hours after the shooting, interviewing witnesses and gathering evidence. Officials say they are in the "early stages" of the homicide investigation.

There are no arrests to report at this time.
