The Craven County fire marshal is on the scene of a mobile home fire in Vanceboro this morning.
The fire was reported around 2:30 a.m. at 230 James St. in Vanceboro. By 3 a.m., the fire was extinguished, according to WITN's Brittany Creamer, who is on the scene.
People were standing outside the home while fire crews went into battle the blaze; neighbors say they are the owners of the property who live down the street. Neighbors also told WITN that no one has lived in the home that burned in about a month.
One fire fighter said it appears the blaze started on the front porch.
The Vanceboro Volunteer Fire Department and Little Swift Creek Volunteer Fire Department responded. There were rescue crews on scene, but no injuries were reported.
The Monday morning fire is just down the street from a separate fire that happened Sunday morning at the abandoned train depot in Vanceboro. Craven County Fire Marshal Stanley Kite said the fire at the train depot is considered suspicious and is under investigation.
Authorities are also still looking into two fires at abandoned mobile homes on James St. from three months ago.
