A south Florida newlywed has been arrested after allegedly hiring an undercover police officer to kill her husband.
Police say the 26-year-old gave an officer posing as a hit man
$1,200 for a handgun and offered $3,000 to murder her husband of
six months. When asked if she really wanted her husband killed, she
reportedly laughed and said "5,000 percent sure."
Yesterday, investigators played along. They covered her home in
crime-scene tape and called her at the gym. They say the suspect
immediately broke down in tears when a sergeant said her husband
It wasn't until officers got the young wife (Dalia Dippolito) to
the police station that she learned her husband was alive and in
the next room.
She's charged with solicitation to commit first-degree murder.
Bond has not yet been set.
