Hidden Health Care Taxes

A new report finds the average US household with health care coverage paid about a thousand dollars extra last year in premiums to cover uninsured people.

The report is from families USA, a group that supports expanded health care coverage. The group found that more than 42 billion dollars in health care costs was not paid last year, mainly by people without health insurance.

According to the report, insurance companies made up for the loss by raising the price on premiums among families and employers who have insurance.
