Authorities have confirmed the remains of a body found tangled in a fishing net was a crewman aboard a scallop boat that sank off the New Jersey coast.
Fifty-seven-year-old Frankie Credle of Bayboro, is the fourth body recovered from the Lady Mary.
The Coast Guard says the fishing boat John & Nicholas recovered
his decomposed remains in their nets on Wednesday 60 miles off the
coast of Cape May.
The ashes of a third fisherman, Tarzon "Bernie Mac" Smith, arrived in Pamlico county earlier this week so his family could bury him. Tarzon is to be buried between his two nephews, Royal Smith Jr. and Timothy Smith, who also died in the accident.
Only one of seven crewman survived the sinking in March. The
cause of the accident remains under investigation.
