Local Insurance Agent Charged With Fraud

The state says they've busted a local man for insurance fraud..

The North Carolina Department of Insurance says 35-year-old Phillip Raulerson of Grey Farm Rd. in Jamesville has been charged with one felony count of insurance fraud and three misdemeanor counts of forgery.

Lawmen say Raulerson is accused of forging the signatures of family members and using fake names on about 34 insurance policies between August 2008 and February 2009.

Lawmen say Raulerson collected commission on the fake policies while working for Combined Insurance Company of America.

The North Carolina Department of Insurance says Raulerson was booked under $10,000 unsecured bond. Martin County Sheriff's investigators assisted in the investigation.
