A California man on trial for murder was shot and killed after attacking the judge.
Investigators say the suspect, David Paradiso, had been testifying in his murder trial, when his mother got upset and left the courtroom.
When judge fox called a recess, authorities say Paradiso left the stand, approached the judge from behind, and began stabbing her with an unknown cutting instrument. Bailiffs rushed to helped the judge and shots were fired in the process.
After the attack, San Joaquin County Judge Cinda Fox was wheeled out of the courthouse Wednesday with non-life threatening injuries.
Paradiso was on trial for allegedly stabbing his girlfriend in the neck in his mother's car in 2006.
