UNC System Chief Calls For Lower Tuition Increases

The President of the UNC System says the universities need to scale back on how much they increase tuition in the 2009-2010 academic year.

UNC System President Erskine Bowles wants to cut the proposed tuition hike requested by each school in the system by one-third. That's according to the News and Observer of Raleigh.

East Carolina University has requested permission to increase tuition by three percent. The UNC Board of Governors meets in February to discuss tuition rate increases.
