New research about why drinking alcohol, in moderation, can be a health benefit.
Researchers at Loyola University reviewed 44 studies and the majority of them showed lower dementia rates in drinkers, compared to non-drinkers.
The key however is moderation, one drink or less a day for women and one to two drinks a day for men. Scientists say too much alcohol can actually impair the brain's function.
You can also protect against Alzheimer's and dementia with exercise and a diet rich in fruits and veggies, cereals, beans, nuts and seeds.
