Democrats Voted Early

The presidential election is easily one of the biggest stories of the year 2008. New information has been released about voter trends in North Carolina.

The non-partisan group Democracy North Carolina says North Carolina had the highest increase in voter turnout in 2008 over 2004 than any other state in the country. 70% of registered voters turned out this year, compared to 64% in 2004.

The group also found that early voters overwhelmingly favored Democrats, while Election Day voters overwhelmingly supported Republicans.
