A missing fisherman has been found on the waters off the Crystal Coast, according to the fisherman's father. The father said his son ran out of gas.
The Coast Guard started searching for 47-year-old Ernest Aguayo, Jr. Wednesday evening. His father became concerned when Aguayo had not returned from a fishing trip he started around 11 a.m. Wednesday. Officials say Aguayo departed from the Wildlife Boat Ramp in Morehead City.
Helicopters from the Coast Guard Station in Elizabeth City and from Cherry Point started searching for Aguayo Wednesday evening.
There was a small craft advisory issued for boaters Wednesday. The seas were forecast to be swelling to four to six feet on Wednesday.
