Lack of Sleep May Increase Risk For Diabetes

Another reason to get more sleep. Lack of sleep may increase your risk for type two diabetes.

Researchers in London ran studies on more than two thousand people without diabetes. They identified a mutation that increases the risk for high blood sugar, next to a gene that regulates the hormone responsible for the body's internal clock and sleep patterns. Experts say when body clock genes are altered, it also increases the chance blood sugar genes are abnormal.
