Panthers Player Arrested

Carolina Panthers reserve guard Jeremy Bridges has been arrested on misdemeanor assault charges stemming from an incident at a restaurant.

Bridges was taken into custody late Sunday night, and charged with two counts of simple assault and battery and one count of communicating threats. The Panthers host Tampa Bay on Monday night.

Bridges was released about an hour later on $2,500 bond.

A team spokesman said they were aware of the arrest and gathering information.

It marks the second time in just over 16 months that Bridges has been arrested. He was convicted in March of misdemeanor assault after a woman accused him of pointing a gun at her outside a strip club the day before the team reported to training camp.
