Stand Up To Cancer

Riley's Army
Riley's Army is an organization aimed at providing support to children with cancer and their families in Eastern North Carolina. The organization is named for Riley Philpot, the daughter of two physicians in Greenville, who has battled a Wilm's Tumor in her young life. Riley is cancer-free, but may remain on treatment over the coming months.



Riley's Army is hosting a family picnic on Sunday, September 28 from 1p.m. - 4 p.m. at Elm Street Park in Greenville. All past and present pediatric oncology patients and families are invited. Breast Cancer Screenings
Washington Women's Care, with co-sponsors WITN and Eastern Radiologists Washington, will hold several breast cancer screenings during October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Call (252) 946-6544 to reserve your screening. The screenings will be held:



Saturday, October 4, 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Thursday, October 9, 5 p.m. - 8 p.m.
Saturday, October 18, 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Thursday, October 23, 5 p.m. - 8 p.m.


Saturday, October 11, 8 a.m. - 11 a.m.
Women between the ages of 40 and 65, who have no insurance to cover mammograms, and who have never had a mammogram qualify for a free one. Pre-registration is mandatory. Call (252) 522-7846 between 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday - Friday. This screening is made possible by Eastern Radiology (formally Kinston Radiology Associates) and Lenoir Memorial Hospital.

Colorectal Cancer Screening
Thursday, December 4, 1 p.m., Lenoir Memorial Hospital, Kinston
This free clinic is for men and women age 40 and over who have never had or been screened for colorectal cancer.
This clinic will be held in the Minges Wellness Center classroom and led by members of the WellAware team and the
Lenoir Memorial Gastro staff. Pre-register by calling (252) 522.7846

Prostate Cancer Screenings
Saturday, September 13, 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.at Lenoir Memorial Cancer Center, Kinston
Lenoir Memorial Hospital and Lenoir Memorial Foundation in conjunction with Doctors Lee Cox and Andrej Hnatov will provide the free prostate cancer screening, Saturday, September 13. You must be 40 years of age or older to participate. Pre-register by calling (252) 522-7846.

Saturday, September 20, 8 a.m. - 11:30 a.m., Leo Jenkins Cancer Center, Greenville
Free prostate exams and PSA blood tests are available to men aged 50 and older. An appointment is required. Call (252) 744-4929 to schedule an appointment.
