The battle over the beach at the Cape Hatteras National Seashore is one that Congress gets involved in Wednesday.
Dare County Commission Chairman Warren Judge will address a Congressional committee about concerns over beach closings. The National Park Service shut down parts of the Hatteras National Seashore as part of a settlement reached between environmental
groups and the National Park Service. The goal is to protect endangered birds and turtles.
The hearing Wednesday will be streamed live on the web. The hearing starts at 2:30 pm. Click http://energy.senate.gov and click on "live webcast" on the left side of the page. Dare County officials ask people viewing the webcast to remember that the video stream may take several minutes to begin. Also, other topics may be discussed at the hearing before the issue about the Cape Hatteras National Seashore.
